Fuji Oyama Factory Wins METI Minister’s Award for Greening

It is our pleasure to announce that the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has decided on giving the “METI Minister’s Award” that recognizes excellent greening efforts of factories and businesses in Japan to GC Corporation’s mainstay Fuji Oyama Factory in Oyama-cho, Sunto-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture.
Nominated by the Commerce and Industry Bureau under the Economy and Industry Department of Shizuoka Prefecture, Fuji Oyama Factory has been recognized and selected as the award winner for maintaining and improving the greening ratio, its harmonization with and consideration for the community environment and its communication with the neighboring community.
At Fuji Oyama Factory, the vast site is maintained and managed primarily by the environment and maintenance staff with the aid of some retired GCC veterans. To promote communication with the local community, Fuji Oyama Factory invites residents from a nearby district to its summer festival and accepts factory tours by the neighboring elementary/junior high schools and diverse organizations in Oyama-cho, let alone dental professionals both inside and outside of Japan. Among other efforts, the factory also proactively participates in the community’s cleaning activity through environmental volunteers twice a year. These are some of the activities for which Fuji Oyama Factory has been recognized by the METI.
Fueled by this award, Fuji Oyama Factory is determined to aim for the world’s No. 1 dental factory, continuing to supply its products to the customers all over the world while further greening the site on a sustainable basis.
