World Congress 2015, Tokyo, Japan
The World Congress 2015 was held from March 13th to 15th 2015, by the Japan Dental Association/Japan Association for Dental Science, 8020 Promotion Foundation, and Japan Dental Trade Association, and was co-sponsored by the World Health Organization, WHO, at the Tokyo International Forum.
Centering around dental treatment and public oral health for increased healthy life expectancy, recommendations were made for dental treatments, based on evidence from other countries. Attendees exchanged opinions in lectures and symposiums, including measures to protect the health of a rapidly increasing aging population. On the final day, a statement was issued as a Tokyo Declaration to promote these activities.
GC’s exhibition booth displayed denture repairs and special homecare devices for treatments for housebound patients. Visitors were able to experience the various services provided at the Kamulier shop produced by GC, designed to support the elderly, and allow family members to enjoy their lives through dental care.
In addition, dental materials and oral care products were shown at the special dental equipment exhibit zone, and live cooking demonstrations of soft foods and cake tastings were offered at the Kamulier booth designed as a café.
A press conference was held after the conference program. In the first part, the sponsors and co-sponsors (Japan Dental Association/Japan Association for Dental Science, 8020 Promotion Foundation and Japan Dental Trade Association) answered questions from the press; in the second part, FDI and Japan Dental Association talked about the future plans of the World Congress.
