The article “Managing Our Older Population: The Challenges Ahead” was published recently in the Journal of Dental Research (JDR)

The International Association of Dental Research (IADR) and GC have collaborated in recent years to advocate oral health needs of the older age group, as a task associated with the global aging population. The collaboration between IADR and GC for this task started with the IADR Presidents’ Forum organized in Lucerne, Switzerland 2017, hosted by GC.

The article introduces and expands the statements and recommendation which have been addressed so far, as well as the suggested actions to help meet the challenges. In order for oral health needs of the aging population would be properly understood, available prevention and care would be provided. Cooperation is essential among oral health care professionals, researchers, policy makers, and industry representatives with effective advocacy by all stakeholders.

GC will continue to tackle the oral health challenges of the aging population, supported by our Vision to contribute to the health and well-being of people around the world.
